Meeting 3rd May 2016

Minutes of Meeting held on 03 May 2016 @ 7.00pm at The Life Centre. Romiley.

Present: - Tracey Adams*(Chair) Beryl & Alan Smith*, Pam Reed*, Peter Birchenhough*and Jean Bartlett* Residents*.

1. Minutes of the Meeting on 01 March 2016 were accepted as a correct record.

2. Treasurer's Report – The Treasurer was absent but as there had been no monies received or paid out the balance is £518.85. A payment of £10121 is outstanding to AS.

3. Play Area

Play Equipment – TA reported that work had started but no other details. RB. 4 Action Plan
The newly adopted plan has been agreed by all parties.
New sign to be fixed on the existing post just inside the park but visible from Carlton
Ave. Use our logo as designed by a pupil from Romiley Primary School. TA/RB Outstanding.
Compstall Rd entrance – renew/refurbish sign on gate – show name, logo, web site and telephone number for vandalism and unsocial behaviour. TA/RB Outstanding.
A new notice board at the entrance from Sandy Lane/Compstall Road is now our priority.
Design with map/history and news. Outstanding.
Anthony Crook has issued a plan for next winter which covers all the matters relating to tree planting and running. It only leaves the problem of how we create a focus point at the end of the grass stripe up to the gym equipment,
Obtain picnic table for rear of the park – funding required.
Wood chip required for most areas of the park. Outstanding /AS 5 June.
Laurel hedge along rear of garage is to be reduced in width by SKS.
Gardening Days to increase to two per month in April.

5. Dog Poo – on the last workday this was a major health risk. Consider dogs be banned or on leads only, CCTV and signage.

6. New Leaflet

A draft leaflet requires new photographs. AS has applied for a grant to cover the printing costs. 500 copies required.

7. Health & Safety Matters

Sharon Duke, Greenspace Officer, has circulated a number of documents relating to Task Days and personnel involved. AS tabled copies of the forms. Each volunteer is requested to complete a Volunteer Registration Form. AS will complete the other forms as required. It should be noted that as our group do not use power tools or ladders the risks are minimal and relate to weather, slips/trips and handling/lifting plus the need for suitable clothing & footwear. It was agreed to purchase gloves for all volunteers (last supplied in 2005!)

8. Summer Fete. Cancelled due to lack of volunteers.

9. Gardening: 4, 15 & 26 June, 10.00 till Noon. Volunteers required. All welcome. AS/10/05/16
