Meeting 5th July 2016
Minutes of Meeting held on 05 July 2016 @ 7.00pm at The Life Centre. Romiley.
Present: - Tracey Adams*(Chair) Beryl & Alan Smith*, Pam Reed* and Jean Bartlett* Residents*.
Apologies: Jill Lince*, Peter Birchenhough*, John Ackers* and Debbie Barraclough*.
1. Minutes of the Meeting on 03 May 2016 were accepted as a correct record.
2. Treasurer's Report – The Treasurer was absent but a payment of £101.21 has been made to AS and a grant of £250 received from Forever Manchester for the new promotion leaflet and protective clothing ie gloves.
3. Play Area
Play Equipment – TA reported that work had been completed.
4. Action Plan
The newly adopted plan has been agreed by all parties.
New sign to be fixed on the existing post just inside the park but visible from Carlton Ave. Use our logo as designed by a pupil from Romiley Primary School. TA/RB Outstanding.
Compstall Rd entrance – renew/refurbish sign on gate – show name, logo, web site and telephone number for vandalism and unsocial behaviour. TA/RB Outstanding.
A new notice board at the entrance from Sandy Lane/Compstall Road is now our priority. Design with map/history and news. Outstanding.
The existing notice board to be removed.
Anthony Crook will inspect the damaged Plane tree.
Obtain picnic table for rear of the park – funding required.
Wood chip required for most areas of the park. Complete.
Laurel hedge along rear of garage is to be reduced in width by SKS.
The group expressed their thanks to Philip Turtle, a local resident, who has donated plants to be sold to raise funds or used in the park
5. Dog Poo – on workdays this is a major health risk. Consider dogs be banned or on leads only, CCTV and signage. Discuss with SD.
6. New Leaflet
The draft leaflet requires new photographs. Funding secured. 500 copies required. TA to contact DB for an update..
7. Next Meeting 13 September at 19.00.
TA expressed her thanks to the Life Centre for the continued use of their premises.
Gardening Days: 12&30 July, 10 August, 3 September 10.00 till Noon.
