Meeting 5th September 2017
Minutes of Meeting held on 05 Sept 2017 @ 7.00pm at The Life Centre. Romiley.
Present: - Tracey Adams*(Chair) Beryl & Alan Smith*, Pam Reed*, Jean Bartlett* . Residents*.
Apologies: Jill Lince,* Philippa Bonorino,*Debbie Barraclough* Peter Birchenhough* & Terry Holmes*.
1. Minutes of the Meeting on 02 May 2017 were accepted as a correct record.
2. Treasurer's Report – JA was absent so no statement but payments of :-
£8.36 to Alan Smith for eggs & paint, and £37.00 to Darren Taylor for face painting materials (not used). Both for the Fun Day.
A payment of £ 126.00 has already been approved and paid for T-shirts.
John Ackers is resigning as treasurer next January. Pam Reed has indicated her willingness to take on the role. Changes will be discussed at the next meeting.
3. Action Plan
New signage at Carlton Ave and Compstall Rd now in place and look good. New signboard at the front entrance still outstanding. AS met JB to make progress. Artwork for layout and brief history currently being prepared by Darren Taylor & Alan Smith.
An additional bin to be requested at the Compstall Rd entrance as the convenience store has no bin but much litter. JB
The existing notice board to be removed - URGENT
Planters – All replanted with annuals and look very attractive.
Obtain picnic table for rear of the park – funding required.
Laurel hedge along rear of garage has been cut down but NOT width. Programme required SKS.
Wood chips to be spread over all recently dug beds. AS to order.
Notes of AS meeting with JB are attached.
4. New Leaflet
To be circulated to libraries, schools, businesses etc.
It was agreed to give the designer a £25 book token for her considerable help.
5. Community Fun Day
All agreed it was a great success and expressed thanks to the organising sub- committee
AS has circulated a brief review to be discussed at the next meeting of the organisers.
AS tabled draft accounts just for the Fun Day. It showed a surplus of &2197.00
It was agreed that donations to the voluntary groups who had entertained without charge should be made as soon as possible. It was also agreed that a sum of £1000+ should be “ring fenced” to cover the event next year.
Donations and plants sales raised £43.00 & £91.00 respectively.
6. TA expressed thanks to Life Centre for hosting our meetings and confirmed the dates in 2017. Next meeting 07 November 2017. Followed by a curry.
Gardening: 19, 30 September & 28 October. 10.00 till Noon. Volunteers required. All welcome.
