Minutes of Meeting held on 06 March 2018 @ 7.00pm at The Life Centre. Romiley.

Present: -Beryl & Alan Smith (Chair)*, Jean Bartlett*, John Ackers*, Pam Reed & Peter Birchenhough. Residents*.

Apologies: Tracey Adams*, Jill Lince,* Philippa Bonorino,* Debbie Barraclough* & Terry Holmes*.

1. Minutes of the Meeting on 07 November 2017 were accepted as a correct record.

2. Treasurer's Report – John Ackers presented his last accounts before retiring as Treasurer. A balance of £2367.03 with two payments outstanding £100 to Werneth Band and £247.00 to SMBC for the new tree in the centre bed.

Pam Reed will now organise the new account and change the signatures plus open a deposit account for the £1200 to be set aside for the Community Fun Day.

Alan Smith expressed the thanks of the group to John Ackers for all his work since formation in 2005 and hoped he would continue to support the gardening work.

3. Action Plan

New signboard at the front entrance still outstanding. The draft artwork is ready subject only to some minor changes currently delayed by Darren Taylor’s work commitments.
An additional bin has been requested at the Compstall Rd entrance as the convenience store has no bin but much litter. JB
The existing notice board still to be removed - URGENT
Planters – miniature daffodil and tulip bulbs have been planted. (Supplied by SMBC)
Obtain picnic table for rear of the park. AS reported that the draft grant application was ready for submission in May, subject only to the bank changes.
Large gazebo required for Fun Days. It was agreed to purchase from our funds.
Laurel hedge along rear of garage has been partially cut with the balance planned for next winter.
Laurel in School bed to be cut to ground level.- outstanding.
Wood chips - ongoing
Pampas grass in centre bed removed and replaced with Betula Utilis Jacquemontii. There is now a great deal of space around the tree which should be filled with shrubs/perennials Suggestions?

4. New Leaflet

To be circulated to libraries, schools, businesses etc. after Easter.

5. Community Fun Day

The organisers wish to commit to another Fun Day in 2018 on 30 June. AS will liase.

6. TA expressed thanks to Life Centre for hosting our meetings. Dates for 2018 have been agreed and circulated.

Gardening: 31 March, 18 & 28 April 10.00 till Noon.
