Minutes of the Meeting held on 6 May 2025 at 10.00 at Romiley Life Centre
Present: Pam Read, Terry Holmes, Jean Bartlett, Philippa Bonorino, Anne Granby, Debbie Barraclough

1. Minutes of the meeting on 4 March 2025 were accepted as a correct record.
2. Matters arising: none.
3. Treasurer’s Report: PR reported a balance of £2421.35 after paying for plants.
4. Action Plan
• Wildflower meadow – Seeded turf cannot be purchased yet because it has been too dry. There are signs of some wildflowers growing in the area. Action PB
• Trees –The bark of the multi stemmed Betulas has been cleaned and the ground weeded.
• School bed – In the section next to Sandy Lane 3 Eleagnus and 2 Rhododendrons have been planted. Action TA/JB
The plants in the central area will be reviewed and surplus plants moved to the Compstall Road entrance. Another late flowering Clematis has been planted against the back wall. Action PB/TH
- Wet beds – A start has been made on the weeding and thinning. Action TH
• Centre bed – The Spring pruning has been carried out. Regular weeding sessions will be required. Action PB/JB/MA/BC
• Optician’s bed – This area has been edged and Spring pruned. PR/AG/MA/JY
• Compstall Rd – Now that access to this area of the park is reopened, it is too dry to put in new plants for now. Work will start here as soon as possible. Action All
• Carlton Ave – Thanks to Terry and his son for the Viburnum, which has been added to the shrubs in this area. Action PB
• Tubs – Thanks to Jean and Barbara for keeping the displays going all winter and spring. The tub near the playground will be redesigned and replanted. Action JB
5. Gardening – Saturday 10 and Saturday 31 May 2025. Action PB
6. Other business
• FoRP 20th Anniversary is in 2025. There will be a celebratory event on Saturday 7 June 14.00-16.00. All members and supporters and donors are invited. Action TA/DB
• Fitness in the Park A trainer is interested in running fitness sessions, using the gym equipment. He has been referred to SMBC
• Romiley in Bloom FoRP was approached about participating but no further information is available.
• WhatsApp – It was agreed to set up a WhatsApp group for notice of meetings only. Anyone interested should give their details to Terry.
• Romiley PS – The school will be encouraged to be more involved in the park.
• Electric cabling – a trench dug at the front of the park has been refilled.
7. Next Meeting – Tuesday 1 July 2025 at 10.00 in the Life Centre
